Free Refill

Emptiness stalks us throughout our lives. From the baby who sucks the last drop of formula out of his bottle, to the octogenarian who watches his last blood pressure pill fall into his palm, we all face a never ending battle against dwindling supplies. And believers have it even tougher than unbelievers when it comes to this battle because we not only have to face emptiness in all its standard configurations, we also have to face the thorny problem of dwindling faith.

Of course, faith isn't supposed to dwindle, it's supposed to grow. But perhaps you've noticed that this isn't a perfect world. It doesn't always snow on Christmas. The ideal couple doesn't always live happily ever after. The Cardinals don't always win the World Series. And Christians aren't always brimming with faith.

Free Refill (Standard Publishing, 2007) was written for believers whose faith is running low. It acknowledges that even the greatest heroes of the faith occasionally experienced a famine of faith, and it celebrates the fact that our gracious God gives free refills! Notice the word, free. The good news is that you don't get a faith refill be jumping through hoops, working harder, or adding to your already overcrowded schedule. You get it by refocusing on Jesus.

As always, Mark has filled this book with heartwarming stories, laugh-out-loud anecdotes, and penetrating insights. Above all, it is a thoroughly Jesus centered book, resting on the often forgotten truth that our faith depends on Jesus "from start to finish." (Hebrews 12:1-2, NLT)

Faith famines can be very scary, as you know if you're going through one. This book is guaranteed to bring you comfort, encouragement, and a refreshing drink of Living Water.
